Hi, I’m Sam Dykstra — a wedding and portrait photographer based in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island.
My style is rooted in documentary photography, focusing on candid, unposed moments—the quiet glances, unexpected laughter, and genuine emotions that tell your unique story.
As a proudly queer-owned business, I believe in creating a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated. No matter who you are or who you love, you are welcome here — exactly as you are.
Having grown up immersed in the arts—from sculpture and painting to acting—photography has become where I feel most free, alive, and connected. I create with intention, passion, and deep respect for the people I’m honored to photograph.
